Occasionally, you might prefer opening a PDF in your desktop with your PDF editor of choice. With the Edi Sidekick, you'll be able to open it in your default PDF application and upload it back into Edi seamlessly.
Important: If your PDF editor of choice is Adobe's free version: Adobe Acrobat Reader, please see further instructions below.
1. Right click any PDF > Open > In Desktop
Make sure PDF is not open in the Online PDF Editor
2. User will be redirected to a new tab where they can click Open in Desktop or wait a few seconds for the file to open automatically. This will Lock the file in Edi.
The Edi Sidekick is required to open the PDF in your desktop. If you haven't downloaded it, click Download Edi Sidekick.
3. Once you make desired changes, manually Save & Close the PDF.
4. Unlike Office files opened via the Sidekick, PDFs will not upload automatically into Edi. Users must enter the sidekick and manually Upload version de Edi.
